BeanStalk Little Theatre is the new children’s theatre located in Boone, NC. As you may remember, they held their first performance this past Christmas – Jingle Jury. This new theatre is Watauga County’s ONLY community theatre program dedicated to providing quality theatre for and by children and their families. It was co-founded by the Executive Director, Andrea McDonough and Creative Director, Amy Beane.
The summer performance will be the “Night at the Wax Museum.” Auditions for “Night at the Wax Museum” will be held on May 4, 2013 at Hardin Park Elementary School at 2:00pm. Auditionees will be asked to sing and read from the script. If you have a song (no longer than 16 measures) you’d like to sing or a monologue (1-2 minutes long) to perform, you are encouraged to do so. However, it is not a requirement and should not deter anyone from auditioning. If you do have a song prepared, please bring sheet music or a background CD.
They are looking for all ages 1 – 100!
If you would like a little more experience at how an audition works, the theatre is holding a workshop.
The musical theatre audition workshop for will be for youth in grades K-12. The workshop will include the following:
• Individual and group work with experienced acting, dance, and vocal coaches
• Advice on age appropriate monologues and songs as well as proper attire for an audition
• Prepared audition package ready for your next audition
The workshop will be on April 27, 2013 at Hardin Park Elementary School in Boone. The cost is $25 per student
