In it’s 3rd year, Mountain Girl Gallery is a cute little quaint store recognized by many as the Swiss chalet type buildings that normally through the winter months is known as Highland House Ski Rentals. Located next to the Scotchman store at Tynecastle in Banner Elk,  during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, Highland House is transformed and morphs into the great Mountain Girl Gallery. Mountain Girl is co-owned by Sonya Garland, along with her brother Carroll,  who grew up in the mountains and just has mountain girl written all over her. Wanting to exemplify life in the mountains and the love of the area, Sonya wanted to bring local style the  Gallery and show support for the many artists in the area.

Opened already on March 30th for the season, Mountain Girl Gallery is putting out the call that they are back and are inviting everyone to come to the Mountain Girl Gallery Open House this coming Saturday, May 5th, 2012 from 6-8pm for a fabulous time of getting to know what the Gallery is all about and the artisans and craftsmen and women who are the make-up of this locally inspired store.
