Like most things that have crept into Christianity over the last 1700 years (worship on Sunday, church buildings, sermons, clergy etc), Easter comes from the Pagans. Even the name, Easter, is that of a Pagan Goddess (Eastre). To the Pagans, the rabbits and eggs represented fertility and rebirth.

Great article, Kendra! My kids asked the same thing this year, and it was weird to try to explain it. But the plan you've come up with is wonderful! I love it. It is all about balance isn't it?

I enjoyed your article. Sounds like you ahve come up with a great plan to include the bunny and eggs, etc, but not to distract from the real meaning of Easter on Sunday! :)
