Melanie Bullard, of the Watauga Education Foundation sent me this notice yesterday! The WEF does great work for kids and families in the High Country, and when I was a teacher, I actually got a grant from them for my music classroom. My husband earned a WEF grant at Mabel School so that every 5th grader can play in the orchestra. Someone has purchased all 1000 Daniel Boone Hats for this event! The proceeds will go to the Watauga Education Foundation.

This is will be a blast for the entire community. We need 1000 people to come out and get a FREE hat and be in the photo to set a world record of the most people dressed like Daniel Boone. It’s all part of the Daniel Boone Days Festival. This should be big fun for families and it benefits the WEF.

EVERYONE’S INVITED AND IT WON’T COST YOU A PENNY!

Saturday, September 6 – 11:00 a.m. – Mast Store Parking Lot- 130 N. Depot Street- Historic Downtown Boone
