Goodbye Ski Season…Hello Summer Camps

Well, winter is coming to an end here in the high country … at least, here on Beech Mountain in one respect. Ski Beech had their end of season day yesterday, culminating in a party with BBQ, music and lots of fun.dscf0482

Now, don’t think we are believing for one minute that we will not see snow again before our summer visitors begin arriving.  Hardly! Those coats and thermals are not put away until at least June and some never put them away as our history shows we have had snow in every month except for August on Beech!  It’s all worth it once summer kicks in as we are the coolest place to be east of the Rocky Mountains.

dscf0540Speaking of summer, now that we are heading toward spring and thoughts of summer camps are beginning to creep in our minds, we have some excellent summer camps through the Buckeye Lake Recreation Center. Click here to view and download the flyer for the camps. You might consider calling or coming up to see if one or more of the camps might be just the ticket for the kids this summer.  The staff is super nice and very knowledgeable so give them a call or, better yet, come on up for a tour of the facilities and pick up some information to make the ultimate decision on what to do this summer.  dscf1942

We also have a day camp for Beech Mountain Club members and their guests, so if you own a Club property or know someone who does, you might want to look into the programs and the wonderful pool, tennis facilities, golf and dining options offered by the Club.  For more information on the Club, check out their new website at http://www.beechmtnclub.org/.
