High Country Independence Day Activities ~ July 4, 2008


There are a lot of great activities for families July 4th!

Here are some that I’ve found.


  • July 4 – Parade will begin at 11AM in Downtown Boone
  • July 4 – Tweetsie Fireworks
  • July 4 – Boone Fireworks near the Armory
  • July 4 – Boone Art Crawl, 6PM

Blowing Rock Fourth of July Festival 2008

  • July 5- Games, Climbing Tower, Airwalk, Face Painting and more!
  • July 5- Fourth of July Parade at 2:00 p.m.
  • July 5 – Fireworks – Blowing Rock Country Club, 9:30 p.m.
  • July 6 – Music and Park Dance

Beech Mountain

  • July 4 – 47th Annual Roasting of the Hog, Serving 6PM, Fireworks at dark. $10 adults, $5 kids
  • July 4 – Buckeye Lake Recreation Center celebration. 11AM – 2PM

Ashe County

  • July 4 – Todd Liberty Parade and Circus. I couldn’t find any times or info about this, except that it’s in Todd
  • July 4 – Ashe Country Festivities and Fireworks at Ashe Park in Jefferson, at dusk.
  • July 5 – Christmas in July Festival! Downtown West Jefferson. Awesome music, vendors, food. 9AM – 8PM

Avery County

  • July 4 – Independence Day Parade, Banner Elk
  • July 4 – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints across from the airport in Banner Elk has free parking, food, games, cotton candy, and Indoor bathrooms, and a good view of fireworks.
  • July 4 – Celebration on the Riverwalk, Newland
