Mountain Music Jamboree, in Glendale Springs, is hosting a Valentine’s Day Dance (and coincidentally, also my daughter’s 7th birthday party!) on the evening of Valentine’s Day – What a great way to keep the romance in your marriage and involve the whole family! Let your kids see that you can still cut loose and have a great time dancing, in a family environment! Adults are $8 and children 12 and under are free! My favorite tradition for Valentine’s Day is making homemade Valentines for the kids’ school friends. Ever since they started school, my girls have hand-made a Valentine for each child in their classes. It is a lot of work on their part, but I think it is rewarding to put forth an effort to show that they care! And we have a blast every year picking out stickers and coming up with new designs…. the most special part for me is seeing their individual personalities come out in their cards. My oldest is sure to make the very same card for each child, paying close attention to fairness and detail, while my youngest tends to tailor each card to the friend for whom it is intended (and to her creative whim at that very moment!) – it’s fun to see what the creations say about your child. They are all so special in such different ways.
