There’s something for everyone at the Mountain ValleyFest this weekend! There will be tons of food (including Earth Fare boxed lunches and food from Makoto’s), children’s activities (airwalks, Myrtle the Turtle, and more), door prizes, raffles, and live music all day. It was a great family event last year and should be even better this year.
The event is from 9 am to 5 pm this Saturday at the Green Valley Park, which is on Big Hill Rd, about 4 miles past Green Valley School. Admission is free, but it costs $2 to park. There will be lots of children’s activities–some free, some will cost a little bit of money (probably in the form of tickets that you purchase there). You can bring folding chairs if you want to sit and listen to music, but if you’re like me, there won’t be a chance to sit (chasing 2 active boys around). There are also raffles, canoe and kayak trips, and plenty of good food.
This is from Holley, who contacted me about the event:
“My mother is on the GV Park board, so I get a little behind the scenes look at the planning for this event. It is amazing what goes into it and how many people are involved. It is truly an incredible event and it does so much to help the park. I’m so happy to live right around the corner from such a wonderful place to take my children. It looks like the weather should be OK most of the day Saturday, so hopefully everyone will be able to come out and have a great time.”.
