November Weekend Events: Ready, Set, Go…For The Holiday Season!

Fall pumpkin and gourdsI hope everyone had a good Halloween weekend and is Ready, Set, Go…for the Holiday Season to begin! We just got finished with Halloween costumes and decorating, now for an awesome time of reflecting and thankfulness with Thanksgiving, then on to the rush of Christmas with parties, cooking, and shopping. Time is passing by so quickly with so much to do and so little time. Take a breath, relax, and plan out your days to maximize the most out of free time and don’t forget to have quality family time.  I did just that this past weekeAdam Keri, Spencer, and Marissa at Blowing Rock for Halloween 09nd with the Halloween events and let my hair down dressing up with the kids for Halloween. I still can’t quite believe I’m sharing this, but here goes with a picture of myself, our twins and one of our older sons! Kind of embarassing, but it was fun! I’m glad I can still be a kid at heart! Now on to the subject at hand, Here are a couple of events for this weekend.

This is your chance to have professional pictures taken of your family or your child at your favorite play place, Boone’s own non-profit children’s museum. Professional photographers, Maggie Photo by Maggie FarringtonFarrington (www.farringtonphotography.com), Savannah Strickland (www.savannahstrickland.com ), Eli Morgan, Kristian Jackson and Kayla Morton have volunteered their time to offer a low cost photo session where $30 will get a 30-minute photo session and a copyright free CD with all the pictures. And, you have a choice to either pose against a background or let the photographers follow the children as they play. Christmas-themed props and backgrounds will also be available, and proceeds benefit The Children’s Playhouse. Registration is required and time slots are limited. These are two great activities helping to bring in the Holiday season and have fun with your family! Don’t forget to take time to enjoy the season and not let it overtake you. Let us know what your favorite things to do are to start off the Holiday season right! We would love to hear.

Also, make sure to check out Keri’s and her husband’s new website, www.timespasttoys.com for their Wooden Toy and Home Decor business, Heavenly Creations Decor, currently under construction, so please pardon their cyber dust. Even so, this will give you a look at what products they have to offer and who they are. Keri and her husband look forward to hearing from you and you are more than welcome to give  helpful hints as to making the website better and more user friendly. They  will soon be including links for area businesses selling Times Past Toys and Heavenly Creations Decor products and such..
