Play It Again, Sam Sports!

Let me tell you a story.  Little Johnny wanted to play soccer SOOO bad!  All his classmates were playing, and he begged his mom to sign up.  Johhny’s mom loved him and wanted him to be a well-rounded mini-citizen, so she did!  But after the first season, Johnny decided he was “headed” out of the soccer world (or football, as the rest of the world calls it).  The next year, Johnny tried the real football, then tennis, then basketball, when he finally settled on… ballet.

So what’s a mom to do with all that stray sports equipment cluttering up the basement?

Bring it to Play It Again Sports, of course!  And now, the Town of Boone has it’s very own!  The store is located on Howard Street near the old Emporium building.  Merritt Yackey and his business partner have lived in the HIgh Country for 5 and 6 years, respectively, and thought the area needed a gently used sports equipment store.

The High Country Mom Squad wholeheartedly agrees!  You can call Play It Again Sports at 264-8955 and bring your unwanted stuff.  They aren’t open for sales yet, but are currently buying equipment.  After they open the first week in January, they will continue buying, consigning or trading equipment.

I am SO excited, are you?  What old equipment do you have lying around? .

  1. This is great! We had one in Wilmington when I lived there and I loved it. Great for getting the kids into new sports without spending a fortune.
