Summer Camps and Workshops for Kids

I began to do some research about summer camp opportunities for kids, when I came across a wonderful article on The Mountain Times Online. (See correction below) In order not to reinvent the wheel, (and avoid plagiarism charges 😉 I thought I’d just post a link to that article. Alisha Hawkins and Mike Shands did a great job finding all kind of activities in the High Country and beyond, in Boone, Blowing Rock, Appalachian State (ASU), Lees McRae in Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, even Triplett and Newland.

Here is the Informattion for 2008 Watauga Arts Councils Summer Arts Camp with the Missoula Children’s Theater

Now the more difficult question is, “What activities are we going to join?” Every summer, I look forward to the unscheduled, care-free time of the summer. Then we gradually add more activities until we’re busier than we were during the school year!

What about your family? In how many activities are your kids usually involved during the summer?

CORRECTION: I need to learn not to do this stuff at 11:00 at night! That Mountain Times Article was for 2006! (blush) I plan to call all those camps and get updated information for 2008!
