National research has shown that the fear of speaking in front of a group of people is a greater fear than the fear of dying.

Toastmasters International has been providing a positive and encouraging environment for people to develop their speaking skills since 1924. Recent changes in the Toastmasters International program now emphasize the leadership aspects as well as continuing their focus on communication skills.

Members come from all walks of life and represent a cross section of the community. There are no teachers in a Toastmasters club. Members take turns giving speeches, being evaluated by their peers and practice answering impromptu questions that teach us to think fast on our feet. The program is self-directed and self-paced. It is a true learn-by-doing program. Members are friendly and supportive – you can’t help but become a better speaker! Mark your calendar to take advantage of this rare opportunity to improve your speaking skills. Learn how to speak up and be heard. Let the Toastmasters help you lose your fear of speaking.
