Hoppin’ Down the Bunny Trail….

I know many of us leave town for the Easter holiday, but for those of us who are sticking it out up here “on the mountain”, there are still some fun things to do!

FaithBridge UMC is having an Easter EGG-stavaganza on Saturday, April 11th from 3:00-5:00 pm.  There will be face painting, crafts, refreshments, a door prize, a lesson and sing along, and of course- AN EGG HUNT!   Also, this year, there will be a special Tiny Tot hunt for kids 3 and under.

The 321/421 Flea Market will open Saturday, April 11th from 7:00am to 3:00pm.  The new flea market is located next to Earth Fare, near the intersection of Highways 321 and 421.  Admission is free!

Mount Jefferson State Park is having several outdoor events on Saturday (I would check the weather first, although sometimes it is completely different there than it is anywhere else!) inspired by and centered around nature.  The Scavenger Hunt, Geology Hike, and Nature Hike are FREE and open to the public.  For more information, call 336-246-9653.

On the movie front, prepare for lots of screaming little girls, as the Hannah Montana Movie comes out this weekend!  My 7-year-old tells me that this is the preparation for her no longer being Hannah, so you may want to get your little girl her last Hannah fix before she’s Miley, all the way!  I’m sure there’s nothing that could stop my girls from seeing this one!

Sarah will be going Friday to peek in on the rehearsals of Blowing Rock Stage Company’s production of High School Musical 2!  She’ll be interviewing the director and cast members, and she’ll be sure to share the scoop!
And here are a few more local events:

7:30pm Hayes Performing Arts Center ~ Davis & Dow: Jazz Divas

The sound of vocalist Julie Davis and guitarist Kelly Dow, who perform a concert celebrating the wonderful women of jazz, is deeply rooted in the jazz tradition but delivered with original playfulness that keeps it fresh and fun. Raved Cadence Magazine: “Brazen Excellence! This duo breathes and thinks as one. Dow’s guitar is positively orchestral in support while Davis’ scatting suggests she learned how in her bassinet.” Suggested Ages 12+

10:00 am  Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Party

Buckeye Lake Recreation Center in Beech Mountain.  Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast and a visit from the Easter Bunny!  This is a free event and the Easter Egg Hunt is available for children ages 12 and under.  For more information, visit the website here, or email buckeyerec@townofbeechmountain.com

Everyone enjoy the holiday….
What are you doing this weekend?
