5th Annual Fairy Day at Daniel Boone Native Gardens (FREE)

This free event on July 14, 2018, is designed for children and families to come spend the afternoon in the Daniel Boone Native Gardens learning about plants and butterflies. Children and families are encouraged to wear fairy or superhero costumes and bring a picnic to the Gardens. Face painting will be available at a small fee.

This event is a day dedicated to teaching children about the fascinating aspects of nature. Dr. Annkatrin Rose, botany professor at Appalachian State University, will engage children in learning about the life cycle of monarch butterflies. Children will also be able to “meet the bugs” and learn about pollinators and their importance in nature. The event will be held rain or shine and children should be accompanied by an adult.

The Incredible Toy Company will be at the Gardens and the Watauga County Public Library will be giving away free children’s books at the Gardens.
