The 2019 Appalachian State University Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, October 18. The parade will travel through the campus of Appalachian and along King Street in downtown Boone.

Visitors to downtown will be able to park in any of the Town of Boone public parking lots, or on King Street. After 5:00 p.m., guests may also park in the Human Services Center parking lot, which is just a short walk to the parade route, and downtown amenities. For optimal parking and parade viewing sights, please arrive in downtown no later than 6:00 p.m.

Streets will close an hour prior to the parade step off at 7:00 p.m., all traffic lanes through downtown will remain open until that time. For a short period during the parade, traffic coming into town from the west will be rerouted via the Poplar Grove Connector. Access to downtown parking on Queen and Depot streets will be reopened at the Waters Street intersection as soon as the parade has safely cleared the intersection.

Following the parade, head over to APPtoberfest at Peacock Hall Parking Lot and enjoy live music featuring Arson Daily, a pep rally, ferris wheel, inflatables, and food.
