1/2 Price Sale is this Saturday on March 16th, 2013. Come and shop early at 7:30am to benefit Hardin Park School. Bring 5 non-perishable food items or $5 to get in early.  The regular shopping hours will be 8am – 6pm!

We have heard that everyone has found lots of great bargains! Most items in the store will be 1/2 price on March 16th. Items with a circle around their price are items that do not go 1/2 price.

Canny Couponing Classes ~ “Where Savings Makes Cents!”

Introducing “Canny Couponing”

Reservations are now being taken for classes on the “ins & outs” of effective couponing. The new class will inform the user all about some unique ways of using coupons to lower their monthly grocery bill, using coupons in tandem to double their savings, where to find coupons, discovering sales cycles, and so forth. 

 The six week course is designed to help the user gain knowledge and understanding of the coupon process with an Introductory Class followed by an Advanced Class.

 With the downturn in the economy, many people across the nation have had to find new and additional ways and methods to make their food dollars go further.  Effective couponing by millions of women and men has become the rage thus saving many families hundreds of dollars normally spent on groceries, toiletries, medicines, school supplies, and many other items.

 The “Canny Couponing” class will be held at MK’s Southern Cooking Restaurant & Bar (formerly known as Glidewell’s Tavern) located at 1182 Main Street in Blowing Rock.  The class begins on Monday, October 8th from 6-8 p.m. and repeats every Monday through November 12th.  In December, there is to be a special Holiday Couponing class with a Christmas Recipe & Cookie Exchange with new classes at the beginning of the new year.

 The cost of the class is $15 for the first session and $8 for each of the next five classes.  Class fees may be paid weekly or paid in full at the beginning with $5 off the full payment. Fees include a coupon binder, coupon pocket sleeves, a labeling system, highlighter, pen, accessories, weekly sales lists, store coupon policies, information regarding weekly ads, coupon clip and swap, and much more.

Chick-Fil-A’s March Fun Activities ~ Family Friendly Events

Chick-Fil-A is always promoting great food and family-friendly events to go along with healthy eating on-the-go. As we head towards the Spring season, let’s take a look at what the month of March holds. There’s exciting activities for Moms, Dads, Kids…the whole family!

 

 

 

 

Our first event starts with Couponing Tuesdays. Chick-Fil-A invites you to come in on Tuesdays, March 6th and the 20th from 10am-12 noon and hang out with other Moms and Dads. While you’re there, you’ll be able to grab a free cup of coffee or tea and cut coupons, trade ones you don’t need, see what the new sales are, all the while being able to make friends and have some adult conversations. You can even bring the little ones to play in the Kid’s Zone. A great way to spend your morning.

 

 

Ahoy there Matey! It’s the Pirate and Princess Night on Friday, March 9th from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Dress up the kids and yourselves in your favorite Pirate or Princess costume and get your picture taken with Pirate Moo Cow – Aye! Kids will also have a Treasure Trove of awesome Games and Prizes and even free Ice Dream for everyone that is dressed up. Now that’s a load of cargo for all you Deck Hands!

 

 

Looking for a way to inspire your child and encourage their creative side? Head on over to Crafty Thursday, March 15th from 10am-12 noon. You’ll have a relaxing time having lunch while the kids get to unleash their energy and turn it into a super fun craft. Discovery Toys will also be there showing some great products.

Animal Birthday Party at Grandfather Mountain (Freebie!)

While I wouldn’t recommend actually approaching a bear and asking to have a slice of his cake (I hear sharing makes them cranky), the Animal Birthday Party at Grandfather Mountain this June 15 is going to be lots of fun for bears and humans alike! Come say “Happy birthday!” to all the animals at Grandfather Mountain, from young Luna the Otter to 30 year-old Morely the Golden Eagle.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15, guests will be able to participate in games, crafts, and more for the price of regular admission. There will also be a special behind-the-scenes tour:

Guests will get to see where the cougars and otters sleep overnight, meet black bears that are not commonly on display, learn the ins and outs of what it takes to care for the animals year-round, observe a training session and learn about why the animals call Grandfather Mountain home.
