December Weekend Events: Jingle All The Weekend! 12/18-20

kids at christmasIt’s beginning to look a lot like…Children playing in the snow, lights are all aglow, the cold crisp air, decorations and stockings hung by theoutdoor christmas and snow chimney with care, jingle bells are ringing, Christmas carolers are singing, are you on Santa’s naughty or nice list, twas the night before…..Yes, it’s Christmas time!!! Yeah!  Here are a couple of  happenings around town to keep up the momentum of the Christmas Holiday Season. So Jingle All The Way through out the Weekend!   

Christmas in Blowing Rock play Ensemble Stage presents, “Christmas in Blowing Rock” on Friday Dec. 18 at 7 pm and Saturday Dec. 19 at 2 and 7 pm held at the Blowing Rock Elementary School auditorium . Hosted by Melvin Tunstall III, “Christmas in Blowing Rock” outdoor christmas tree 2has a 6 – person adult chorus, a 7 – person kids’ chorus and featured musical guests, Diana and Sarvis Ridge. The presentation follows in the footsteps of variety-themed shows of bygone Christmas’s such as Andy Williams and Bing Crosby. Blowing Rock Visitors Center, Gems by Gemini and Black Dog Coffee have tickets available…Adults – $10, Kids 12 and under – $8. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 828-406-2884 or online at  

Beech mtn. logoHoliday Events in Beech Mountain start on Saturday, Dec. 19th and continue all week through Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24th. Saturday’s events start with children visiting Santa at the GazeboBeechXmas1_cmyk at Fred’s General Mercantile from 4 – 5 pm, so make sure to bring your camera for photo opportunities. Then, children can help decorate the Charlie Brown-esque Christmas tree from 5 – 6 pm at the Beech Mountain Chamber of Commerce office while enjoying Cookies and Hot Cocoa. The event will end with the Lighting of the Tree.
Monday’s events, Dec. 21st,
begin the day having Breakfast with Mrs. Claus and kidsMrs. Claus at the Buckeye Recreation Center from 8:30 – 10 am. Enjoy a free breakfast before Mrs. Claus reads Christmas stories by the fire.
The Recreation Center will also host a Yule Log Bonfire on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd, at 7 pm with a Guitarist performing Christmas songs. Call the recreation center in the event of inclement weather.
Christmas Eve Outdoor Service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 24th, at 4 pm by the Ice Skating Rink at Ski Beech. For more information about any of these events, call the chamber at 828-387-9283 or the recreation center at 828-387-3003.

Hopefully things are beginning to quiet down and you are able to go out and enjoy these activities that will definitely make memories for you and your family!
