February Weekend Events: Love, Love, Love…All We Need Is Love! 02/17-19

Now that Valentine’s Day is over, there are so many sales and clearances of candy and cards and such. It is kind of humorous to me! While hearts of chocolate, flowers, cards, and such are wonderful, I don’t believe that you have to have those romantic notions to show love. But it is an awesome gesture and my hubby was very sweet to take me out to dinner at one of the finest restaurants here in town.

While there, I couldn’t help but notice some of the couples that were out. Some were dressed to a ” T “, some were very casual and you knew that this wasn’t really their “thing”, almost being awkward, but the hubby was trying to make a statement of LOVE to his wife or girlfriend. Then there were those couples who looked the part in this fancy place, but there seemed to no real depth to their relationship. There was no real talking or communication, sometimes one of them was even texting or on their phone.

It caused me to take notice because it was supposed to be a “special” night! It was for me since we don’t get to have “special” date nights like this very often. And, I guess I was more aware as my hubby and I had been talking about how to communicate better and just relate. I think that communicating effectively is a big part of a healthy relationship, something I want to make sure that I do.

After a lovely meal, my hubby presented me with a big heart full of chocolates, a card, and a beautiful rose! The couple next to us took notice and began to chat. The cutest older couple and full of love for each other! They remarked at the gifts and just began to chat about their life and asked about ours, throwing in a few jokes about each other and loving touches. We had a seemingly kindred spirit with each other and exchanged numbers. As we left, I realized that if we can’t communicate with each other, touch with love, smile with love, joke lovingly, what do we have? After all, Love is the universal language!

It was a wonderful Valentine’s celebration, and I loved getting roses, cards, and chocolate. Even though those acts of love are sweet, I believe that those are a reflection of what is underneath…the touch with love, the smile with love, the eyes with love! When it comes down to it, Love, Love, Love, all we need is Love, and Love is what we will receive. And, it isn’t all about romantic love, it’s simply showing love, caring, and kindness to each other. Thanks for letting me share, and let’s show love to one another this weekend!
