High Country Mommies: A Mom Community to Check Out

A few years ago, as a Stay-At-Home Mom, I was just starting to get into this Digital Social Networking thing.  I signed up for a local online forum- the first I’d ever seen, and began meeting some awesome moms with whom I wouldn’t have otherwise crossed paths. I’ve since branched out in social media for moms, started a business, published a blog and an online magazine.  And in the busyness of doing all that, I ran out of time for many of the delights that I had in social life.  If you’ve ever been a SAHM, and transitioned to a Working Outside the Home (or Working at Home) Mom, you know what I mean.

And tonight, I rejoined High Country Mommies and decided that I need to get back in community with others whom I can learn from, share stories with, and meet together with in person.  According to HCM, here is the description:

AHCM logos part of The Mommies Network, HighCountryMommies.com is a free community for moms in Ashe, Avery, and Watauga Counties, North Carolina. We realize that all moms need local support — and who can’t use another friend? HighCountryMommies.com offers a simple way to connect with local moms for friendship, support and fun. Members meet on our private discussion forums to share information on everything from where to get the best haircut to tips on transitioning to a “big kid” bed. Each month, we also offer many face-to-face events for our members, their children and their families.

But it’s more than that. It’s a support system.  So if you find yourself needing one, go on over and join now!.
