June Weekend Events: It’s Official – Summer has begun! June 06/22-24

With the first day of Summer beginning this week, it’s official – Summer has begun! Not that we haven’t already been feeling it, or acting like it and having fun already. When I think of Summer, I recall great memories of running around at dusk catching Fireflys or Lightening Bugs as we called them. Memories of playing in the green grass, barefoot and counting to 25 and yelling, “Hide and Seek, Here I come”! Those were the days of mixing up some Lemonade or Kool Aid and setting up a stand to make a few dollars, and of course playing in the sprinklers to cool off on those sultry hot days. Ahh, that was the life for a kid!

Today, I try to re-create something like my younger years by gathering friends and having Cook-Outs and Picnics, going Fishing, Swimming, and what ever we can think of for fun. Here in the High Country of North Carolina, we are fortunate to have awesome places to visit, quaint towns, exciting attractions, and beautiful lakes and scenery to take in with festivals and fairs to top off the action. It is quite an experience not only to live here, but to visit as well!

This weekend has some fun happenings to participate in, so c’mon, let’s get going!
