March Weekend Events: Think Spring Green! 03/25-27

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful week and getting ready for the weekend ahead! Since the 1st day of Spring was last Sunday, we’ve had several gorgeous days and I’m claiming it…they will be back, even if it is chil ly today!

With great activities going on this weekend, it’s time to Think Spring Green! Let’s get out and enjoy the sun and the beginnings of Spring. My family and I have been planning a garden and doing some Spring cleaning too.

On Friday…

Hardy Har HarIt’s Pirate and Princess night, so bring your  favorite Pirates and Princesses to Chik-Fil-A this Friday, March 25th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Dress those kiddos in their best princess or pirate costume and help them nab a prize for the best costume. Come for Face Painting, Princess & Pirate Crafts, see Moo Cow too! On Saturday…

Giddy Up and bring all the children to A Day on the Farm as Leatherwood Mountains in Ferguson invites area kids to spend time on a “working horse farm” this Saturday, March 26th, from 10am – 12pm. Free for kids of all ages in and around surrounding communities and open to the public, activities will include Lead-Line Rides, Arts & Crafts, Horsemanship Demos, a Petting Area, Barn Tours, Story time with S.L. Come one, come all to Alpha Delta Pi’s 2nd annual Spring Carnival, a benefit for the Ronald McDonald House, this Saturday, March 26th, at Boone United Methodist Church in the Family Life Center from 12-3pm. A Family-friendly event and open to children of all ages, admission and games are free, with lots of yummy food for sale, and yes, donations will be accepted. We hope to see you there! On Sunday…

Don’t miss the Spring 2011 annual Boone Handmade Market this Sunday, March 27th from 1pm to 5pm, held at The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts on West King St. in downtown Boone. The Handmade Market is an Indoor Art, Fashion, Jewelry and Anything Handmade Show, featuring some of the best student and local artists of the High Country. The market not only showcases the talenst of various students and artists but also binds the school and town together in the arts. For more info visit
