PBS KIDS Offers Free Resources

As many schools across the country are closing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, uncertainty looms as children prepare to educate their children from home. To alleviate the stress, PBS KIDS announced they will be sharing a daily email newsletter with educational activities for parents and children. These activities will keep children engaged and ensure both learning and playtime during this uncertain time. An example of today’s newsletter can be found below. Sign up for the newsletter here.

In addition to the daily newsletter, PBS KIDS has a variety of resources for parents and their children when it comes to the COVID-19 including tips for parents on how to talk to children about COVID-19, such as:
– Share age appropriate facts and keep it simple
– Assure children they are safe
– Emphasize simple things your family can do to be “germ busters” such as washing your hands and practicing healthy habits
