September Weekend Events: Get Down with Fall Fashion, Mystery, and Boogie 09/24-26

It is officially the Fall Season, and this weekend is suppose to feel like it with cooler temperatures approaching. I love Autumn and all of it’s rich, vibrant colors, and each day brings new discoveries of the leaves changing and such. It is a fun time, and what better way to welcome this season than to get out and enjoy our area’s activities and decor.

This weekend we have a nice mixture of events from taking a look at what’s new for Fall Fashion, to a Murder Mystery, to even a Fall Boogie and Festival. So, I know this is cheesy, but as the song says, Let’s “Get Down Tonight” with these fabulous opportunities to take in Fall! C’mon on out and join us, won’t you?

First up is the Hardwear Fall Fashion Show this Fri., Sept. 24th, at 8:30 pm held at the Lucky Penny. Several stores are sponsoring the show including Lucky Penny, Shear Shakti, 641 RPM, Char and Peabody’s, which will present this fall’s newest styles and sounds. For more info call 828-865-7425.

Next up is “Oh NO! Not Another Murder at the Four Deuces,” a Murder Mystery Game and Dinner, hosted by The Cultural Arts Council of Wilkes this Fri., & Sat., Sept. 24th – 25th, at 6 pm at the Wilkesboro Civic Center. “Four Deuces” will offer each guest a chance to play the role of “Detective” in a murder mystery game. Live entertainment and a cash bar will be provided. Dress is semi-formal or 1920s-style. Tickets are $25 and proceeds will support literary, performing and visual arts programs. For more info and to purchase tickets, call 336-838-1076.

Then we have the 12th annual Dog Jog, hosted by the Watauga Humane Society, Sat., Sept. 25th at 11 am. Make it a day and help celebrate National Alpaca Farm Day at Apple Hill Farm with an Open House Sat., Sept. 25th, from 10 am – 4 pm.
