Sign-up for Weekly Art Classes at Appalachian State University

Starting in September, your child can take a weekly art class at The Turchin Center. This weekly class is led by art education majors at Appalachian that provide opportunities for elementary students, ages 7-12, to create their own masterpieces while learning about art and artists of different cultures. Blazing Easels is a series of eleven classes designed for children ages 7 to 12 which will explore the seven elements of design – line, shape, texture, color, value, form, and space. Participants will explore multicultural art forms, as well as, work created by famous artists of the past. Participants will tap into their own inner artists, while learning about the principles of design, through painting, drawing, collaging, and creating three dimensional objects.
