App Ski Mountain Hosts Meltdown Games on March 25th

Is it true? We are afraid ski season comes to a close this Saturday at App Ski Mountain. There is fresh powder on the slopes thanks to snow making overnight on Wednesday night. Take advantage of the wonderful conditions and enjoy the two days of skiing for this season.

$10 Night Ski at App Ski Mountain on New Year’s Day!

Start the New Year off right by hitting the slopes at Appalachian Ski Mtn. Ski or Ride for only $10 on the first Sunday of each month during the season. The High Country gets lucky by New Year’s Day falling on a Sunday.  The normal 1/2 night session is from 7:30pm – 10pm, but if you purchase your ticket online, you will receive an extra hour FREE!

Don’t Miss Valentine’s Day Family Weekend at App Ski Mtn

February is almost here and that means love will be in the air. What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than spending time together on the ski slopes at Appalachian Ski Mountain. It is Thanksgiving Holiday weekend! The last weekend of November will be celebrated with Blowing Rock’s Christmas in the Park and Parade. ‘Tis the Season! November 27:

1. Christmas at Apple Hill Farm  Now through Sunday, December 13, the farm will be offering mini-tours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Christmas at Apple Hill FarmSundays from 10am to 4pm.

The farm store is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm for all your gift shopping needs.

Join in for a tour of our working alpaca farm where you can meet our alpacas, llamas, goats, donkeys, chickens, and more! After your tour, stop by our farm store to warm up with some homemade hot chocolate while you browse our farm store. You can even pick up a hand-tied wreath or locally grown table top tree.

The Apple Hill Farm Store has been turned into a one-of-a-kind Christmas store with a wide selection of alpaca yarn, socks, scarves, blankets, and teddy bears, as well as a unique collection of locally made gifts and Christmas items for the people on your list.

5. Chetola Resort Festival of Lights Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28, 2015 Horse & Carriage Rides around Chetola Lake 5:30pm-9:30pm Adults: $18 Children 3-12: $11 Children 2 and younger: Free *No pre-reservations will be taken; sign-up for each night’s rides begins at 5pm in Timbers Room on each respective day Santa Visits Chetola!  *Free Festival of Lights Begins Friday, Nov. 27 at dusk

6. Bonfires at Chetola – Enjoy some outdoor fun with your friends at the new fire pit by Chetola Lake at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. Bonfires are scheduled for 8 to 11 p.m. every Friday evening, weather permitting. Kids can purchase $5 s’mores kits and roast their marshmallows over the open fire. The event also features an outdoor cash bar and live music. The event is free and open to the public. Blowing Rock Christmas Parade – NOTE New Time: 11:00 a.m. From the color guard to the firetrucks, and all the red and green, bell-clad, singing & dancing, holiday-costumed fun in-between, the Blowing Rock Christmas Parade is a favorite annual event. Don’t miss it- and remember to say hi to Bobbi the Clown, who makes an appearance at all our town parades!

6. Last Home Appalachian State Football Game – The Mountaineers look to wrap up their final home game of the season against UL Lafayette on Black Saturday. The time for the game is TBA and will be announced twelve days prior to the game. Tickets are available online at appstatesports.com.
