App State Announces 2019-20 Junior Mountaineer Kids Club

Mountaineer fans 8th grade and younger can join the coolest club in town! Each membership includes EXCLUSIVE JMKC gear and experiences at Appalachian State Athletics games and events for ONLY $35 a child. Families with multiple children will receive a discounted membership fee after the first child. This membership is an annual membership which runs from July 1, 2019 until June 30, 2020.

App State Athletics Introduces Game Day Camp for Kids

Among the many new fan amenities on football game days at The Rock for the 2018 season, Appalachian State Athletics will be offering a Game Day Camp for Kids ages 5-14 during each home game this fall.

App State student-athletes and staff will be instructing this day camp for kids in the Sofield Indoor Practice Facility during football games. Games and snacks will be provided.

Each child must be registered ahead of time at a cost of $30 per child. Discounts are available for families with siblings and Junior Mountaineer Kids Club members. Register online here:

Camp opens 45 minutes prior to kickoff, and concludes 30 minutes following the game. Patrons may drop off campers by foot at the Sofield Indoor Building front entrance. There will be no vehicle access at the entrance due to game day parking restrictions.

Family-friendly Touchdown Boone Friday Nights!

Experience the pre-game options in Boone at the annual Touchdown Boone events! On three Friday nights during the Appalachian State University football season, come touchdown at the Jones House in downtown Boone for a fun, family-friendly night. On September 21st, October 19th, and November 16th stop by between 5:00 and 8:00 PM for App gear, and all your gameday information.

During the event you’ll find:

Festive music, give-a-ways from the Appalachian Alumni Association, gameday parking information, meet Yosef and members of the App State athletic teams, and free beer samples from Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Booneshine, and Lost Province.

App State To Host Carolina Panthers’ Safety Clinic for Football Moms

BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University is one site for the Heads Up Football Clinics that the NFL’s Carolina Panthers are hosting this month for area football moms.

The clinic, which runs from 6-8 p.m. on June 21, is free to mothers when they register online by clicking HERE. It provides moms whose children are interested in playing tackle football with the latest information about player safety and other important information. Across the Carolinas, the clinics are being held in conjunction with USA Football, the national governing body of the sport and the Panthers’ youth football development partner.

Registration space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a $250 donation made to the school or organization with the highest number of participating moms.

Carolina Panthers athletic training staff will discuss concussion recognition and a parent’s role while also covering hydration and prevention of heat-related illness. USA Football master trainers will educate moms on proper helmet and shoulder pad fitting while a Panthers alumni player will discuss football basics, including rules and player positions.

Following classroom instruction, the clinic in Boone will move out to the field at Kidd Brewer Stadium for hands-on instruction from the USA Football master trainers regarding the latest tackling.

Participants will receive an official Carolina Panthers Moms’ Clinic event T-shirt. Snacks and water will be provided.

Free App State Football Admission for all Ashe, Avery, Caldwell and Watauga County Students

On Dec. 2, Appalachian State will host the football regular-season finale vs. Louisiana at 2:30pm.



Several ticket deals will be offered for this weekend. On Cyber Monday, Nov. 27, fans can purchase three tickets for the price of one. This includes one ticket to each of the three games of the Dec. 1-2 weekend for a total of $30.

In addition, App State will offer free admission to the Dec. 2 football game for any school student (all grades) in the Ashe, Avery, Caldwell and Watauga school districts, as well as $10 tickets for accompanying guests. Faculty and staff from those districts are also eligible to receive $10 tickets for the football game.

App State Football Offering FREE Admission for Heroes Day!

Calling all Heroes! App State Football is honoring you at their November 9th game. Free admission will be given to current and former military and all first responders. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

Touchdown Boone – Free Family Event Tonight at Jones House

App State vs Wake Forest

On the eve of one of the most anticipated college football games in North Carolina this year, several local agencies have partnered to create a signature event that will kickoff the weekend for locals, visitors, and fans of both teams. Touchdown Boone takes place tonight, from 5-8pm in Downtown Boone, just one day prior to Appalachian State University playing host to Wake Forest University at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The event is organized by the Boone Area Chamber of, the Town of Boone, and the Appalachian State Alumni Association.

“The Town is excited to welcome visitors and residents to the Jones House to kick-off another weekend full of activities in Boone,” said Town of Boone Cultural Resources Director Pilar Fotta. “Fall is a festive time of year in the High Country, and downtown Boone is at the center of it all.”

This free, family-friendly event showcases Downtown Boone as a destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The Jones House serves as the gateway to the excitement, featuring samples of craft beer from Lost Province Brewing CompanyAppalachian Mountain BreweryBooneshine Brewing Company, and Ivory Tower Brewery. A list of area restaurants serving the sample beers will be available along with a list of those restaurants and retail locations that will be conducting specials throughout the weekend.

The Jones House will also feature music, Twist the Baloonman, meet and greet opportunities with Yosef and select App State athletic teams, “Beat Wake,” buttons and other giveaways from the App State Alumni Association and plenty more. The Town of Boone will provide detailed information on gameday parking options available for Saturday. Friday night parking in Downtown Boone is free after 5pm at all parking meters and in Town parking lots on King, Depot, and Queen Streets. Free parking is also available in the Peacock Hall parking lot on the App State campus after 5pm.

“We aimed to create a central gathering point for visitors to begin what we hope is an unforgettable weekend in the High Country, “said Boone Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO David Jackson. “Many times when App State travels, there is a central meeting location for alumni and fans for Friday night activities in the town we are visiting. We’ve created Touchdown Boone with both locals and out of town guests in mind. We hope people come Downtown, sample the fare, shop, eat, and socialize, and then venture to other areas of our community during their weekend stay. Our support community is ready to host an influx of guests and we hope this event showcases those businesses in a positive and exciting manner.”

The Mountaineers and Demon Deacons are set to kickoff  in front of  a sellout crowd at 3:30pm, Saturday, September 23rd. It’s the 23rd meeting between the two schools, but the first time Wake Forest makes the 87-mile trek to Boone.
