2017 Appalachian State University’s Football Fan Fest Set for Aug. 19

App State will kick off the 2017-18 season with its annual Fan Fest, which is set for Saturday, Aug. 19 at Kidd Brewer Stadium beginning at 6 p.m.

The event will be the first chance for fans to see the new upgrades at Kidd Brewer Stadium, as well as a chance to meet the App State Football team and other fall sports squads.

Members of the Junior Mountaineer Kids Club and their parents will have an exclusive window to get autographs from their favorite App State student-athletes and coaches beginning at 5:30 p.m. before the event opens to the general public at 6 p.m.

The Junior Mountaineer Kids Club is the official club for App State fans eighth grade or younger. Annual membership for the Junior Mountaineer Kids Club is $35 per child with additional memberships for $30 each. Memberships can be purchased HERE or in person outside of Kidd Brewer Stadium beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 19.

Are you ready for some football? Football returns to the High Country this weekend with Appalachian State Football Fan Fest! The weather is going to provide lots of sunshine so it will be a great weekend to enjoy outside time with your family. Check out all the family-friendly events below. App State Fan Fest 2015

August 7:

1. Tweetsie – Bring the whole family out to enjoy Tweetsie fun!

2. Open Play Time at The Children’s PlayhouseMake the ultimate summer souvenir at The Children’s Playhouse in the month of July. We make it easy by stocking everything you need. Take home your special t-shirt home and leave the mess here! We will have adult and children’s sizes on hand.
Cost: $7 per shirt for members, $12 for nonmembers (includes admission to The Children’s Playhouse). Bring your own shirt and dye it for $4. Open play hours are 10-5:00 on Fridays.

3. Passport to Imagination at Michael’s – Join us on an imaginary road trip from the beach to the county fair and beyond, with fun kids’ crafts at each stop. $5.00 per session or 3 for $12. Supplies included.

6. Jones House Summer Concert this week will feature Amantha Mill

Concert begins at 5 pm. Bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on and an umbrella in the event of rain.

7. Music in the Valle – The “Music in the Valle” Concert Series at Valle Crucis Community Park begins Friday, May 22nd, 2015, and continues each Friday evening through September 11th. Admission is free, but a $5 donation to the park per person is recommended. Bring a chair or a blanket and a picnic, as food generally is not available for sale. May 22 – August 14 concerts begin at 7:00PM. August 21 – September 11 concerts begin at 6:30PM.

8. Bonfires at Chetola – Enjoy some outdoor fun with your friends at the new fire pit by Chetola Lake at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock. Bonfires are scheduled for 8 to 11 p.m. every Friday evening, weather permitting. Kids can purchase $5 s’mores kits and roast their marshmallows over the open fire. The event also features an outdoor cash bar and live music. The event is free and open to the public. August 8:

1. Color Run at Chetola Resort – The second annual 1.2-mile fun run at Chetola Resort will take place Saturday, August 8 at 10am. Registration is only $5 per person and proceeds benefit Blowing Rock C.A.R.E.S. Each registrant receives 1 raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes from such local spots at Magic Mountain Mini Golf and Arcade, The Children’s Playhouse, Sweet Frog, River & Earth Gem Mine and Doc’s Rocks Gem Mine. 9. Blowing Rock Art & History Museum – 1 – 2:30 pm. Appalachian Music and Jug Band Program with John Peterson. Featuring Appalachian music and jug band concert. History of musical instruments used in traditional Appalachian music (guitar, fretted and fretless banjo, mountain dulcimer, and harmonica).Traditional Appalachian music techniques will be demonstrated on each instrument. Program will be followed by an audience participant jug band. Jug band instruments will include: washboard, wash tub bass, tambourine, kazoos, cow bell, jugs, shakers, and more. Summer Sunday Sunset Concert: Beech Mountain – Join us at the Gazebo next to Fred’s General Mercantile on Beech Mountain at 6:30 PM pm Sunday evenings for a great music series featuring folk, bluegrass and community bands. Sunday August 9th features the Watauga Community Band with marches, show tunes and old-time favorites.

Appalachian State Football Announces FREE 2015 Fan Fest

It’s that time of year. It is almost football season in the High Country. Go Mountaineers! The date has been set for Appalachian State University football’s annual High Gravity Adventures Fan Fest. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 8 at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

The Fan Fest will begin at 5 p.m. with an EXCLUSIVE half-hour window for members of the Junior Mountaineer Kids Club and their parents to get autographs and take pictures with their favorite Appalachian State football student-athletes and coaches before the gates open for the general public.

The gates open for the general public at 5:30 p.m. and student-athletes and coaches will be available for autographs and photos until 6:30 p.m.

In a new addition to High Gravity Adventures Fan Fest this year, families are invited to stick around Kidd Brewer Stadium following the autographs session for a showing of the Disney football classic Remember The Titans on the KBS videoboard.

What are the advantages of The Junior Mountaineer Kids Club? Note this is the official club for App State fans in eighth grade or younger. In addition to the exclusive early admission to High Gravity Adventures Fan Fest, Junior Mountaineer Kids Club members will also receive:
