2019 Family TubeFest on the New River

Families can still enjoy summer this Saturday along the New River.

All are invited to float the scenic New River for one hour for $10 which includes a tube and a shuttle ride. This TubeFest is an annual Park fundraiser for the Green Valley Park.

Date: Saturday, August 24
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Green Valley Park.

There will be a food truck on-site with free parking. The proceeds from the fundraiser will help maintain the Green Valley Park as primary public river access. Families are encouraged to bring appropriate swimwear, river shoes, hat, shades, and sunscreen. Also, please do not forget a towel!

Green Valley Park Hosts Family Fun TubeFest!

TubeFest Todd NCYou and your family are invited to TubeFest! This is an outdoor family recreation event highlighting planned park improvements and the need for resources to make them happen. It is a FUNdraiser while having fun!

Green Valley Park and High Country Pathways are partnering on a Recreational Trails Grant to provide significant improvements including, a paved walking trail, steps from the river access to the picnic shelter, trail upgrades, and an improved river access.

Details of the event:

When: Saturday, August 29th 10:am – 5:00pm

Where: 3746 Big Hill Road, Todd, NC (5 mi. north of Boone on NC 194 then 3.5 mi. past GV School on Big Hill Rd. on the New River). Maps & directions at greenvalleypark.org.

Cost: $10 tube ride and shuttle. (~ 1hr. float down the scenic New River) Hot dogs and chips, water and soda available at take out. Games and park amenities available to continue enjoying the park. Last tube shuttle is at 3:50 pm.
