The Jones House staff is getting excited for another upcoming season of music lessons.  They will once again be offering a 15-week session of group lessons, and we will continue to offer private lessons instruction as well.

Fall group lessons

The fall session will feature 15 weeks of group lessons, taught on Thursdays – with some overflow classes taught on Tuesdays.  The session will begin on August 29 (for Thursday groups) and Sept 3 (for Tuesday groups).  Classes are 45 minutes long.  Classes will start at 4:30, 5:30, or 6:30 (a possible offering of a couple 3:30 classes this session). 

Tuition for the 15-week session is $75 for kids (7-17 years old) or $125 (18-and-older).  The tuition is payable at the first lesson in cash or check (made to “Town of Boone”).  Instrument rentals are available for an additional $25 for the session. 

This fall, the Jones House will offer classes for beginning through intermediate levels on mandolin, banjo, fiddle, guitar, and ukulele.  There will be a harmony singing class and a stringband class (for intermediate students).

Jones House Music Lessons


The Jones House has announced their summer and fall music lessons schedule. All playing levels are accepted. This is a great way for your child to learn a new instrument as you are able to rent the instrument from the Jones House.

Classes are taught on Thursday afternoons at the Jones House by local musicians steeped in traditional styles of the region. Participants meet in groups of 4-8 students for 45-minute lessons.

Lessons start at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 pm, depending on the instrument and playing level.

Instruction is offered in guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer, and flatfoot dance from rank beginner through intermediate playing levels.
