Tasty Tuesday: Turkey Bleu Burgers

I think we’re seeing the last summery days of the year. The leaves are changing, the colors are blazing, the sun is shining, and everyone wants to spend as much time outside as possible. I have a sneaking suspicion that this week is probably the last week that I’m going to actually enjoy grilling hamburgers. So in honor of this lovely weather, I tried a new variation on the standard burger: Turkey Bleu Burgers!

I got this tasty recipe from my friend, Athalia. Because Athalia was feeding two adults and one little one with this recipe, I automatically tripled it for my family. The following should make three generous burgers:

Turkey Bleu Burgers

  • 1/2 pound ground turkey
  • 1 c. pinto beans, mushed up
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced finely
  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/4 c. bleu cheese crumbles

Smush all these ingredients together, mixing them together thoroughly. Form into burgers and grill over medium heat.

My family loved these burgers. I also made venison burgers and ground beef burgers. The turkey burgers were, hands down, the best.
