The Jones House opens registration for winter/spring music lessons

The Jones House staff is excited to announce their next 15-week session of group lessons, and they will continue to offer private lessons instruction as well.

The Boone JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) program offers music lessons for kids and adults in traditional styles of the region for fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and sometimes other instruments (like dulcimer) or dancing (flatfoot!). The Boone JAMS program is an affiliate of the Junior Appalachian Musicians organization (www.jamkids.org). The program also receives support from the North Carolina Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.

Boone JAM features weekly 45-minute lessons taught in small groups at the Jones House on Thursday between 4:30-7:30 p.m, preceding the Jones House Old-Time Jam (7:30-11:00 p.m. every Thursday, year round). Private lessons are offered on Tuesday evenings. The group lessons are offered in two 15-week sessions in the fall (August-December) and spring (February-May). Private lessons are available throughout the year and are scheduled on a one-on-one basis.
