The Watauga County Public Library and the Western Watauga Library are perfect places for children and families to become empowered to build a better world! Build a better world locally and create a positive change by bringing a canned good (peanut butter, jelly, and cereal) for the Health and Hunger Coalition or a food item for your favorite pet (dog or cat) for the Watauga Humane Society when you sign up for summer reading at Watauga County Public Library. Just as skyscrapers are built to great heights, one brick at a time, participants will find themselves reaching for the stars through hands-on learning experiences this summer. Children who join the summer library program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. So, go forth and build a better world.

The 2017 Summer Reading Program “Build a Better World” is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story times, and more. Registration begins on June 1st. For more information, call the Watauga County Public Library at 828 264-8784, X 3 Western Watauga Library at 828 297-5515 or visit the website, www.wataugacountylibrary.com.
