Upcomming Events for Girls on the Run and 2012 Crinkleroot Retreat!

There is a couple of great High Country events coming up that you don’t want to miss.

Girls On the Run

Girls On the Run of the High Country began in 2009 and we currently operate seven groups at 5 schools.  GOTR is a positive youth development program which combines training for a 5K with an interactive curriculum to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles in 3rd-8th grade girls. Our curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development- their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being.  Lessons provide girls with the tools to make positive decisions and to avoid risky adolescent behaviors.

Luck o’ the Lassie:  this is the annual fundraising event for Girls on the Run of the High Country and is scheduled for March 14 at the Best Cellar in Blowing Rock.  Tickets to the event include a wine tasting, food, merriment and a live auction featuring Wells Fargo Golf Tournament tickets, Deer Valley Racket Club Membership, Blowing Rock Pool Membership, ASU Football tickets, custom jewelry and much much more.
