You Share: Pumpkins, Church Festivals and Halloween Celebrations

Well, this week is going to get crowded with all kinds of Pumpkin/Fall activities, Church Festivals and Halloween Trick or Treat Celebrations.  Since most of us don’t live in traditional neighborhoods, we have to make an effort to find a fun safe environment for our families.

Fall Halloween Pumpkins

It’s a tad difficult to gather all the events going on in the area, so I’d love it if you would add some that you know about!  If you leave them in the comments, I’ll add them to the actual post.  Is your church or business having a Trick or Treat night or Fall Festival?

Pumpkids’ Night at Chick-Fil-A

Kids can come paint or decorate a small pumpkin, Chick-n-Minis are being served for dinner!

When: October 29 from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Haunted Horn Ghost Trail

When: October 22, 23, 24 – 28, 29, 30 and 31. Starting at DARK!

Where: Horn in the West, Boone

Cost: Adults $10.00, Students $7.00 with I. D. The Haunted Horn is not recommended for children under 9, however if you bring them at that age they are charged $5.00.

Blowing Rock Halloween Festival

When: October 31

Where: Downtown Blowing Rock

Cost: Free

UPDATE:  Well, I didn’t receive too many suggestions (ahem…) but I found this exhaustive list at High Country Press, however, no church events are included in the article. Here are a couple highlights, then you can click over for the rest!

Downtown Boo!! October 31

When: Saturday, October 31, 2:00 p.m.

Where: Watauga County Library, featuring scary stories, songs and activities for kids. A parade to the Jones House begins at 3:00 p.m. and trick or treating with the merchants in downtown Boone will take place until 5:00 p.m. Participating businesses will be designated with balloons and streamers, and maps will be provided so that no candy or treats go uncollected.

Blowing Rock Halloween Festival October 31

When: Saturday, October 313:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Where: downtown Blowing Rock, from  Plan for an afternoon of nonstop fun with hayrides, airwalks, games, a scavenger hunt and the Monster March Costume Parade. Prizes awarded for best costumes and scavenger hunt winners.

Cost: Admission is free, and don’t forget to bring a flashlight.

  2. Laurel Springs Baptist Church at 7504 US HWY 421 S, Deep Gap, will be having a Fall-O-Rama on Sat. Oct. 31st from 6-9p.m. Dress in your costume and enjoy a hot dog supper, games, cake walk, small bonfire, trunk or treating and plenty of candy. All ages welcome. We would love for you to be our guests at this free, fun community event.
